Victorian Village collection to remain together at The Storied Lands

Kynren – The Storied Lands, a new theme park opening in the UK in 2026, has acquired Flambards’ Victorian Village exhibition.

County Durham’s historical visitor attraction Kynren unveiled its new daytime park earlier this year. The Storied Lands will be an immersive experience within the wider Kynren park.

Kynren’s expansion news came after Flambards theme park in Cornwall announced its closure in November due to rising costs and declining attendance.

Now, Kynren plans to transform the Victorian Village into a walk-through experience set in Victorian England at the new park.

Until Kynren‘s acquisition, the heritage exhibit was at risk of being taken apart and sold in individual lots.

“The detail and authenticity of the Flambards Victorian Village make it an incredible foundation for a truly immersive experience at The Storied Lands,” said Anna Warnecke, CEO of Kynren.

Exhibit to become immersive experience

“We are not simply relocating it; we are transforming it into a vibrant, theatrical journey where visitors will feel as if they have stepped back into the heart of Victorian England.

“We cannot wait to unveil this spectacular experience as part of our new park.”

The Flambards Victorian Village was developed in the late 1970s. It became one of the UK‘s most detailed period recreations, with more than 40 sets and scenes with authentic shopfronts and interiors.

These include a haberdashery, apothecary, grocers, tobacconist, jewellers, toy shop, inn and a Victorian schoolroom.

The exhibit also showcases restored household settings, such as a period kitchen, nursery, and living quarters.

The first phase of Kynren – The Storied Lands will offer five shows, including the Victorian experience.

Also on offer will be a new Vikings show, an aquatic attraction on a giant lake, a bird-themed experience, and the Fina production.

“You won’t just witness history – you’ll live it, feel it, and be moved by it,” said Warnecke.
