Universal‘s most ambitious theme park ever is nearly ready

Universal Orlando has shared a first look at Epic Universe’s five themed lands ahead of the imminent launch of the new park on 22 May.

The resort in Florida has unveiled the Chronos tower in the Celestial Park land, which serves as the heart of Epic Universe.

Celestial Park houses gardens, waterways and pathways, as well as the Starfall Racers dual-launch racing coaster, the Constellation Carousel, and the interactive Astronomica water play area.

Universal Orlando has also unveiled the remaining themed lands at Epic Universe, which are:

Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk.

Super Nintendo World at Epic Universe is a gamified and interactive land with attractions like Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge and Yoshi’s Adventure.

It also includes Donkey Kong Country, a tropical-themed area inspired by the Donkey Kong video games offering Mine-Cart Madness, a unique family-friendly coaster using an unprecedented ride system and innovative technology.

Dark Universe is an immersive land dedicated to Universal’s classic monsters. It houses Universal’s most terrifying attraction to date – Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment.

Epic Universe’s How to Train Your Dragon-themed land, named Isle of Berk, is a colourful world featuring attractions, retail and dining experiences, and flying dragons.

Finally, Universal Orlando’s third Wizarding World of Harry Potter is inspired by 1920s Paris in the Fantastic Beasts film franchise and the British Ministry of Magic from the Harry Potter series.

Rides and attractions in this land include Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, billed as one of Universal’s most impressive attractions to date.

“Epic Universe is a whole new kind of theme park,” Epic Universe executive creative director Steve Tatham said in a recent video.
