ZIERER, a leading manufacturer of family-friendly amusement rides, has shared details of its project to replace the ageing Medium Tivoli Coaster at Tobu Zoo in Japan with an identical replica.
The company’s products are known for their outstanding quality and remarkably long lifespans, which contribute to sustainability efforts in the amusement industry.
The ladybird-themed ride at Tobu Zoo exemplifies this longevity. Over the decades, the Tivoli Coaster has become a beloved classic, and when the time came to update the ride, the operator wished to retain its original theming and nostalgic charm.
Unique approach
In addition to its technological innovations, ZIERER strives to bring joy to guests of all ages, and this project demonstrates how established attractions can be preserved and shared with future generations.
As operators seek to address wear and tear on their rides, the company works with clients to explore their options. A common approach is to replace a Medium Tivoli Coaster with the modern Custom Force Coaster. This offers a similar appearance, together with enhanced ride experiences with the latest technology.
However, the project at Tobu Zoo required a custom approach to maintain the much-loved theming of the original ride. The After Sales team provided an exact replica of the ladybird-themed ride, fully realising the client’s vision.
Florian Baumgartner, ZIERER After Sales, says: “These projects are always exciting and special. Working with old rides and old plans can sometimes be demanding, but we have risen to the challenge. Thanks to our excellent cooperation with Hanwa and our proven expertise in implementing special orders, we have made this possible.
“It is always a pleasure to see that our work brings so much happiness, even after so much time.”
Last month, ZIERER announced that it has signed a contract with Sanoyas Rides Corporation to provide a Drifter attraction for Tobu Zoo. This contract marks the sale of four units of this new product: one in Japan and three in Europe.
