This online event, designed to bring together the worldwide zoo and aquarium community, takes place on 23 and 24 July.
Session times are as follows: 23 July, 08:00–12:00 CEST (06:00–10:00 UTC), and 24 July, 20:00–00:00 CEST (18:00–22:00 UTC).
Exchanging experience and insights
This annual WAZA event offers a unique opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and shape the future of the global zoo and aquarium community.
This year’s theme is Uniting Voices. Sharing Impact. Shaping the Future. Rooted in WAZA’s vision to advance conservation and animal welfare globally, the Mid-Year Meeting is guided by three pillars: inclusion, exchange, and transformation.
Everyone in the community is welcome, from directors and animal care teams to educators and researchers, with no travel required. The flexible, fully virtual format is designed for WAZA’s international reach.
Attendees can discover how WAZA members and partners are driving change, and share their own experiences, insights, and challenges. This event is a space for listening, learning, and contributing.
They can also participate in short, powerful sessions designed to maximise engagement and inspire meaningful action across time zones and continents.
The Mid-Year Meeting aims to encourage participation from WAZA’s diverse membership, engage more deeply across the zoo and aquarium community, and offer a platform for meaningful discussions and exchange. The event will feature presentations, panel discussions, interactive workshops, and updates from WAZA on its current goals and initiatives.
