S&S Worldwide (S&S), an industry-leading manufacturer of amusement park rides and roller coasters, extends its congratulations to Hersheypark on the launch of the world’s tallest Screamin’ Swing, Twizzlers Twisted Gravity. This new ride is the result of a longstanding partnership.
“We have been able to work with Hersheypark on many projects throughout the years,” says S&S president and CEO Jason Mons. “From maintaining their Arrow rides to building the Hershey Triple Towers and this newest record-breaking Screamin’ Swing, we have always enjoyed every chance we get to work with the team at Hersheypark.”
Tallest Screamin’ Swing in the world
The one-minute and 10-second ride starts with guests seated in one of four themed zones within two gondolas, showcasing designs inspired by Twizzlers Strawberry, Cherry, Hershey’s Chocolate, and Black Liquorice. Guests climb 137 feet, defy gravity at speeds of up to 68 miles per hour, and encounter several moments of zero G as they soar high over Spring Creek in The Hollow area of Hersheypark.
As the 29th Screamin’ Swing installation globally, S&S says it is excited that Hersheypark guests will be able to experience the tallest Screamin’ Swing in the world, utilising patented and tested air launch technology. The exhilarating airtime and stunning views are set to make this a favourite among guests.
Now one of S&S’s most popular rides, the Screamin’ Swing ride model debuted in 2004. Applying the patented pneumatic launch system that S&S perfected for its towers, the Screamin’ Swing captures the magic of a playground swing but delivers a new level of thrust and airtime.
Compact and versatile, this ride easily accommodates a variety of park layouts and attendance levels. With seating options of 4, 8, 16, 32, and 40, the hourly capacity ranges from 120 to 1200 people, all while delivering a thrilling and distinctive ride experience.
S&S also recently celebrated the reopening of the Steel Curtain coaster at Kennywood Park, following structural updates.
