BALPPA stands for The British Association of Leisure Parks, Piers and Attractions. It has more than 300 members from across England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland. This includes operators, trade suppliers, and service providers. The non-profit BALPPA trade association was founded in 1936. Its distinctive logo is the outline of a carousel horse.
BALPPA works with other industry bodies and associations to lobby on behalf of the sector in a bid to support the wider leisure community and help guarantee the industry’s ongoing success.Â
The organisation also regularly publishes safety bulletins and other resources. These update members on legislation, regulations and operating guidance specific to the UK market. BALPPA acted as a point of contact during the COVID-19 pandemic, where extra health and safety measures were required to be put in place by law.
BALPPA’s principal aims are to represent the industry’s needs and concerns, promote safe practices, and promote and defend industry interests. It also provides members with advice, information, and services and supports the sharing of ideas, professionalism, and profitability. BALPPA acts as an authoritative source of information concerning the industry for the media and other opinion makers.
