News
Cosm LA Dome Seek

Cosm, a global technology company that builds end-to-end solutions for immersive experiences, has announced the expansion of its Premium Media Program. This program offers an affordable and flexible option for dome theatres utilising Digistarto to access fulldome content.

New to the lineup of acclaimed and exclusive immersive experiences are two original productions from Cosm Studios, developed in partnership with innovative creators: Nancy Baker Cahill’s interactive visual journey, SEEK and Moonraker VFX’s educational exploration, Inside Pop Art.

In these Cosm Studios Originals, Nancy Baker Cahill and Moonraker VFX challenge the limits of perception and creativity, welcoming audiences into immersive worlds where art and discovery converge.

SEEK guides viewers on a thought-provoking adventure through a series of bespoke abstract landscapes, merging breathtaking visuals with an engaging narrative that encourages deeper observation and listening.

Inside Pop Art immerses audiences in the vibrant world of pop art, showcasing renowned pieces in a format that transcends the boundaries of conventional art galleries.

Award-winning content

SEEK and Inside Pop Art have been added to the Program’s array of popular Cosm Studios Original productions, which already includes Ricardo Romaneiro’s LIQUIDVERSE: Microcosm & Macrocosm and Guy Reid of Planetary Collective’s award-winning Orbital.

In collaboration with Guy Reid and Planetary Collective, Cosm Studios created Orbital, an immersive experience that takes audiences on an awe-inspiring journey through space and time to feel the “Overview Effect” from astronauts’ perspectives. With stunning visuals, firsthand astronaut insights, and a meditative narrative, Orbital provides a transformative encounter with the cosmos.

Cosm Orbital

Orbital recently won two major industry awards, solidifying its status in immersive storytelling. It received the PGA Innovation Award from the Producers Guild of America for outstanding entertainment in experiential media. Additionally, it was named Best Location-Based Entertainment at the Creative Arts Lumiere Awards for its exceptional use of storytelling and advanced LED dome display technology in Cosm’s immersive venues.

“It has been an honor to collaborate with the visionary teams at Planetary Collective and Kuva to bring Orbital to life, a project that is redefining the boundaries of immersive storytelling and entertainment,” says Neil Carty, head of Cosm Studios at Cosm.

“Receiving the Lumiere Award and PGA Innovation Award, the experiential media industry’s two most prestigious honors, validates our mission to inspire audiences through transportive, shared immersive experiences. Orbital brings that vision to life, offering a perspective-shifting journey through space that invites the audience to explore the universe through the eyes of past and present astronauts – all within a shared, meditative immersive experience.”

These awards highlight Orbital’s ability for transforming audience interaction with cinematic content, establishing a new benchmark for spatial storytelling and Shared Reality experiences.

Benefits of the programme

Cosm’s Premium Media Program features a proven selection of almost 50 high-quality immersive shows, enabling participants to expand their audiences and enhance community outreach through innovative, customised, and engaging programming. By providing exceptional value, participants can choose and switch between four or more films each year, instead of being bound to one expensive license. This ensures that audiences stay engaged, inspired, and eager to return.

The Program offers fulldome science education, art, and entertainment films. This collection features diverse, award-winning content from reputable institutions such as the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) and Cosmic Pictures.

Annual pricing is based on dome size and attendance, making it a more accessible and cost-effective investment model.

Benefits include educational resources for classrooms and field trips, marketing materials for impactful teaching experiences, plus access to new and exclusive Cosm Studios Originals, providing engaging art and entertainment programming.

Cosm is dedicated to enhancing its Premium Media Program library with science and educational films and will continue to introduce new, exclusive original productions from Cosm Studios. The company will also expand its network of film producers collaborating on the Program by strengthening existing partnerships with two award-winning producers, Cosmic Picture and the AMNH, to incorporate more inspiring and cinematic films into the library.

“At Cosm, we are redefining immersive storytelling through our strong collaboration with the immersive creator community, bringing audiences into extraordinary new worlds that seamlessly fuse art, education, and technology,” says Carty.

“Delivering powerful new ways to engage and reach new audiences, our Premium Media Program equips our science and education partners with a growing library of immersive content for fresh, tailored programming that aligns with their individual institutional missions.

“We’re proud to introduce Inside Pop Art and SEEK to the Program’s growing lineup of exclusive art and entertainment productions, now reaching beyond Cosm venues and into Digistar-powered domes around the world.”

Recently, Cosm announced a multi-film partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures and Emmy-nominated Little Cinema to create an innovative way for fans to enjoy their favourite films. The first-ever Shared Reality cinematic experience will launch at Cosm’s Los Angeles and Dallas locations on 6 June 2025, featuring The Matrix to celebrate the film’s 25th anniversary.
