Ghouls, apocalypse survivors and a murderous bike-gang are in residence at Germany’s Europa-Park in its new Halloween experience, Traumatica. And for the sixth consecutive year Dutch experience design company Leisure Expert Group is helping ramp up the fear-factor.

This year sees Europa-Park introduce its brand new fright experience – ‘Traumatica’. Europa-Park created the concept as a post-apocalyptic world in which different groups battle each other.

Europa-park, based in south-western Germany,  is one of the world’s most popular theme parks.  It attracted a record-breaking 5.5 million visitors in 2016 and is also investing heavily in new attractions and experiences for its guests. Its Halloween season runs from 23 September to November 5th.

Earlier in the summer it launched Voletarium, its themed flying theatre. It is also creating a huge new Nordic-themed water park resort. Called Rulantica, it is set to open in 2019. Furthermore, the park will  see the arrival of Paddington Bear in January, as a new licensing deal was signed via MackMedia on the park’s behalf.

Leisure Expert Group has worked with the park for the last 5 years. This year It has been tasked with engineering and also building three new haunted houses. These are ‘The Pack’, ‘The Fallen’ and ‘Ghoul’. Each is based on concepts developed by Europa-Park.

Ruben Vissers is a technical expert at Leisure Expert Group. He says, “For many years we have designed and built a lot of Haunted Houses for Europa-Park, but there is never a dull moment while working with them. The concepts are always full of new creative and technical challenges and therefor every year the whole team is determined to exceed all expectations and make the houses even better and more impressive than the year before.
And that’s exactly what we do every year!

“Therefore I’m proud to be part of this team as a Technical Design Expert. I have great respect for the creativity and professionality of everyone involved.”

This summer Leisure Expert Group continued another long-term partnership, this time in the Nevada desert.  It worked with Insomniac for the fourth year to to create the main stage for America’s biggest dance festival, the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC).
