Line Thailand, the popular messaging app, has reportedly invested over 500 million baht ($14.7 million) to launch a digital indoor theme park in Bangkok.
The new facility at Line Village Bangkok, is set to open in December. The Line Village merchandise store opens on June 23rd.
The three-storey attraction will be located in the Siam Square One Shopping Centre which is connected to the Siam skytrain station.
According to the Bangkok Post, the park is predicted to attract 12 million local and Asean tourists a year.
Chief Executive, Kampanart Wonghongkul, described the park as a venue to showcase Line Friends through hi-tech mapping. There will also be shops selling Line merchandise.
Thailand is one of Line’s biggest markets, second only to Japan. Of the country’s 44 million mobile internet users, 94% are Line users and spend an average of 70 minutes on the app every day.
