American Dream‘s DreamWorks Water Park will not be opening on November 27, as previously announced. The attraction’s debut at the retailtainment destination has been postponed, and the new opening date is still to be confirmed.

On Thursday (November 21), a spokesperson for American Dream told NJ Advance Media: “Creating the ultimate entertainment experience takes time and patience.

“Unfortunately that means we’ll have to wait a little longer for the opening of DreamWorks Water Park, as we are postponing the previously announced opening date of November 27.”

According to Patch, the spokesperson was Dana McHugh, who didn’t provide a reason for the delay. McHugh said to visit the American Dream website for updates as they become available.

Earlier this week, a spokesperson for the NJ Department of Community Affairs said the state had yet to inspect or open any of the attractions.

The immersive DreamWorks Water Park will have more than 40 water slides and 15 attractions. These include a lazy river and a 1.5-acre wave pool, as well as the world’s tallest indoor body slide.

Using DreamWorks’ intellectual property, experiences will include Shrek’s Swamp, Madagascar’s Rain Forest, and the Kung Fu Panda Zone.

American Dream opened its first phase on October 25, welcoming guests to the Nickelodeon Universe theme park and The Rink, American Dream’s NHL regulation-sized ice rink.

The fourth phase is scheduled for March 2020, with shopping and dining destinations, an Observation Wheel, and the New Jersey SEA LIFE Aquarium, which was recently unveiled by Merlin Entertainments.

Earlier this month, American Wave Machines, a leading wave pool, surf park, and wave technology company, released a teaser of the PerfectSwell pool at the DreamWorks Water Park.
