UAE Shoppers Prefer Unique Local Shops to Malls

A study has shown that UAE shoppers are tiring of crowded Malls and big international brands, and are looking for unique family activities closer to home.

A recent survey by Dubai Properties shows that the plush malls of the UAE are losing their appeal.

Suprising results of the study showed that people want personalised local offerings and are rejecting big brands:

  • 84 per cent of consumers surveyed are looking for family-friendly community activities
  • 82 per cent would prefer to buy from unique local shops and restaurants
