Spanish destination resort PortAventura World will open its third theme park, Ferrari Land, on April 7th.

The new park will have 11 rides and attractions including the Vertical Accelerator – the tallest and fastest roller coaster in Europe – and the Ferrari Experience.

At FITUR, Spain’s leading international tourism conference and exhibtion,  PortAventura World Parks & Resort recently showcased its brand new world-class theme park. The resort’s third theme park will open on 7th April, to coincide with the opening date of PortAventura Park’s 2017 season.

Ferrari Land is in essence a tribute to the rich history and heritage of Ferrari and also to its founder Enzo Ferrari. This is manifest in the iconic cars and the technologies on display in the park.

The new park has a footprint of 70, 000 square metres. It will have 11 family attractions. Highlights will be expert technology and high-octane thrill-rides. In addition, visitors can dine at Ferrari themed restaurants and enjoy the shopping and live entertainment.

The Spanish park follows the successful creation of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi in the UAE.

The Heart of Ferrari Land

The heart of Ferrari Land will be Ferrari Experience. Here, visitors can immerse themselves in two Ferrari worlds, GT and F1. A key attraction here will be The Vertical Accelerator, which is the tallest and fastest roller coaster in Europe. At 112 metres high and approaching 180 km/hour in just 5 seconds, this new ride will perfectly capture the spirit of Ferrari.

Alongside it is the Ferrari Land Gallery. This is an interactive journey through the history of the Ferrari brand. It will include a racetrack, a free fall tower and a bounce-back tower. Furthermore there will be F1 simulators, a pit stop, a miniature F1 speedway and a play area for younger children.

Continuing the Ferrari theme, park guests can enjoy authentic Italian dishes at a traditional Italian Trattoria. There is also a themed fast food restaurant. The restaurants will serve classic recipes together with traditional Italian ice cream.

Always a highlight of PortAventura World, spectacular live entertainment wil also feature at the new park. Ferrari Land will boast its own themed shows. With 3 different shows through the day and street entertainment the park will be a thrilling, lively and fun experience for guests.

By adding Ferrari Land to its portfolio, PortAventura World Parks & Resort cements its position as  a world-class holiday destination. It has three parks in a single resort together with six themed hotels, a convention/exhibtion centre and even a beach club. The most visited in Spain,  PortAventura Park is also the 6th most visited theme park in Europe, attracting over 4 million people a year. The resort also includes PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park.

Entrance to Ferrari Land will be via a combination ticket with PortAventura Park. Tickets will be £52 per adult providing access to both parks on the same day.
