Leisure Development Partners (LDP), a leading economics and strategy consultant, has appointed a new partner, Kathleen LaClair, who will be heading the company’s US office and leading projects in the Americas.
LaClair brings a wealth of experience to her new role at LDP, having worked at ERA and then AECOM for 18 years. During this time, she worked on a wide range of projects, from resorts and theme parks to observation experiences, waterparks, wildlife attractions, museums and more. This appointment is a key strategic expansion for LDP.
US expansion
While LDP has worked in the Americas market from inception, this move means that the company will be able to better serve its clients in the region. The UK-based company has a global reach, with completed projects in over 80 countries, and will now have a strong presence in the Americas with an accomplished leader. LDP offers feasibility and improvement strategy services for the attractions industry.
“I’m thrilled to join the team at LDP to help expand the footprint in the US, building upon my previous experience with amazing colleagues and partners throughout the leisure and entertainment industry,” says LaClair. “It is an exciting time for the industry and I look forward to supporting our clients through this next chapter.”
Cutting down the carbon footprint

Speaking about the appointment, Yael Coifman, senior partner at LDP, says:
“We are thrilled to have someone with Kathleen’s experience and knowledge of the attractions industry join the LDP team. We have done work in the region for years, but this will make it possible for us to expand our services to more clients.
“The addition of a US office means we will have even more resources and knowledge that can benefit our clients globally. Having an experienced project lead physically located in the US will make it possible for us to cut down on our carbon footprint, reducing long haul flights.
“We’re delighted to be expanding our operations in the Americas and look forward to helping our clients realise many exciting projects.”
