Docks Bruxsel has signed an agreement with Merlin Entertainments to launch a next-generation Legoland Discovery Centre, set to open in summer 2022.
The attraction was co-created by Merlin Entertainments and the Lego Group and will be located in a space that was previously occupied by MediaMarkt.
“We are delighted to be opening this new Legoland Discovery Centre in Belgium by partnering with Docks Bruxsel,” said Meike Lippert, senior divisional director Midway Europe and global new openings at Merlin Entertainments. Â
“Our Lego-themed attractions have been a huge success across the globe, providing an opportunity for adults and children to spend fun and quality time together in an awesome Lego world.”
Docks Bruxsel expanding attractions

“We look forward to revealing more special details over the coming months ahead of welcoming our first visitors in summer 2022,” Lippert added.
It’s hoped the Legoland Discovery Centre will contribute to the growth of Docks Bruxsel, which has survived the COVID-19 pandemic unlike many similar shopping centres.
“We are very much looking forward to strengthening our offer with this internationally recognised leisure attraction,” said Peter Todd, CEO of Portus Retail, the co-owner of Docks.
“Following a challenging chapter, in which we did the impossible to guarantee the economic viability of 100 percent of our tenants, we couldn’t be happier to make such a big announcement.
“It is completely in line with our ambition to be a ‘living centre’ rather than just a shopping centre, by proposing a complete, all-round customer experience,” Todd added.

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW)Â recently unveiled the first entertainment partners for Westfield Hamburg-Ăśberseequartier, including the Legoland Discovery Centre.
“As one of the world leaders in location-based entertainment, we are thrilled to be bringing the first Legoland Discovery Centre to Hamburg,” said Lippert.
Elsewhere, Legoland Billund in Denmark has opened the Lego Movie World expansion, which includes Scandinavia’s first flying theatre ride.
