Polin Group, a leading single-source amusement park supplier, has announced that it is working towards becoming net-zero, based on sustainable products and services, as part of its commitment to help decarbonise the attractions industry.
Sustainability is key for businesses of all types in the face of climate change and many different companies are now making environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria a priority. However, many in the industry are lagging behind, particularly for Scope 3 emissions. This refers to all indirect emissions that occur in a company’s value chain. Scope 3 emissions usually constitute the most significant part of a company’s footprints.
Polin launches BRIGHT
In the face of the climate emergency, water parks need to work to be more sustainable, and Polin Waterpark’s net-zero goal will help operators to achieve this.
Back in 2019, the company launched a new sustainability project under the name of WISHSF in Polin Waterparks with AVATAR INVESTMENT GROUP and now, in 2021, it has announced a new vision called BRIGHT.
BRIGHT is Polin’s commitment to achieving solutions for more sustainable amusement facilities. This vision includes engineering solutions for sustainable facilities, integrated services for energy & water intelligence, consultancy services towards net-zero emissions and green operation and monitoring services.
In addition, the company is developing KPIs (key performance indicators) to assess a water park’s carbon footprint, helping operators to identify their emissions and plan greener strategies.
Working for a decarbonisesd future
Polin Waterparks has created a new internal and external corporate strategy and is also working on a roadmap towards net-zero. This will cover the re-engineering of its processes and activities to counter Scope 1 & 2 emissions, as well as the greening of its supply chain to minimize Scope 3 emissions. Furthermore, the company will be developing new sustainable products under the Bright line.
“Today, in order to accelerate a global transformation of the amusement industry for a decarbonized future, Polin Waterparks extends an open invitation for collaboration in the amusement industry to counter Scope 3 emissions and implement responsible investment funding,” says a statement from the company.
“Only by working together can we make a difference! We will work in the most efficient way with our team, our clients and the guests of waterparks to create a more sustainable future.”
Earlier this year, Polin Group announced that Futura Form, its composite manufacturing company, had entered into an agreement with Merlin Entertainment’s Gardaland Resort.
