IAC-2022

The date and location have been announced for the 11th International Aquarium Congress (IAC). The event will take place from 30 October to 4 November 2022 at Nausicaá in Boulogne-sur-Mer, France.

“After nearly two years of uncertainty, we can finally get ready to meet again for the next International Aquarium Congress,” says Christophe Sirugue, general director of Nausicaá. “From October 30th to November 4th 2022, Nausicaá will be the place for those who accompany and nourish the missions and reflections carried in the world by the aquariums.

“The organisation is ready to make you experience a congress full of richness and diversity. By allowing us to work on the societal impact of our activities and to analyse the solutions that aquariums offer, we must prepare ourselves for a strong positioning to guarantee the preservation of threatened marine ecosystems.”

Call for papers

Registration opened today, allowing attendees to sign up for the virtual event and also to express their interest in a face-to-face event. The team will be monitoring the situation with the global pandemic and a decision will be made in June 2022 on whether to run an in-person element, parallel to the virtual event and featuring the same content.

The theme of this year’s event is “Aquariums: engaged and active on behalf of the Blue Planet”. The programme is available here, featuring expert keynote speakers and a range of presentations on relevant topics. There will also be social events and guided tours.

Those who are interested to present at the 11th IAC are invited to submit their abstract by Friday 6 May 2022. For full instructions, please click here.
