Technifex announces series of promotions

News
Technifex New Employee Roles 2022

New senior vice president will be supported by refreshed management team

Technifex, a leader in live and simulated special effects, has announced a series of key company promotions.

Since 1984, the firm has focussed on bringing realism to the entertainment and attractions industry with end-to-end special effects, through system design, integration and solutions. Technifex says that the five promotions will “better position the company for significant growth in various market sectors”.

Management moves

Former vice president John Polk has been promoted to senior vice president, executive producer, and will work with leading themed entertainment clientele to deliver special effects and water feature solutions.

Celebrating nearly three decades with Technifex, Joe Ortiz will transition from vice president of engineering into his new role of senior vice president of creative technologies. Joe will lead a team of internal and external technologists to develop innovative technology concepts that will solve clients’ technical challenges across a number of market sectors.

Maurice Aboulache will take over Ortiz’s former vice president of engineering role, bringing along his eleven years of experience as manager of Technifex’s engineering department. Aboulache will supervise Technifex’s experienced engineers who develop special effects including mechanical, flame, water, steam, as well as control systems solutions for amusement parks, themed attractions, and immersive experiences.

Other key moves are found in the project management team, with Gabriel Wilson and Bill Clare promoted to senior project manager and project manager respectively.

“Very Proud”

Founder Monty Lunde reflects on his Californian company’s staff development; “All of the individuals promoted have worked at Technifex for many years and are each exceptional team members who reflect the best of what Technifex has to offer our high-profile clients. I am very proud they are so committed to our company and to providing the highest standard of service and solutions to our clients.”

Last year, Technifex announced the appointment of Disney veteran Ian MacVittie to lead its Technifex XR division.
