Firm has brought in new ordering technology and has updated menus across the attraction with a focus on sustainability

SSA Group, an award-winning provider of visitor amenities, has announced that it is now running the food service and catering operations at The Florida Aquarium, where it has made a number of updates to the attraction’s main food locations and implemented technology improvements.

The Florida Aquarium’s main café, Cafe Ray, now features a menu of elevated classics, with a focus on seafood. Options include fresh grain bowls with sustainable seafood, griddle-smashed burgers and hand-breaded chicken tenders. The main café will become the go-to spot for all guests.

Meanwhile, a new menu is also due to launch at The Cove. This venue will soon include a new and improved bar program with frozen drinks and a wide selection of local craft beers as well as elevated snacks.

Finally, the popular Dippin’ Dots Cart has also been updated, with the addition of sustainably-focused edible spoons and eco-compostable paper cups.

As well as the updated menus, the food and catering operations have benefitted from the addition of new technology. For convenience, visitors can now order their food through kiosks and even directly through their own mobile devices.

In keeping with SSA Group’s focus on sustainability, it has also partnered with a number of local venues, including Open Blue Cobia, Brisk Coffee, Kalera (Locally farmed lettuces) and 3Bar Fitness bars. Furthermore, SSA Group has also brought in reusable wash ware at the main café.

The company is looking forward to implementing more changes and upgrades at the aquarium in the coming years, including innovative new dining experiences.

Earlier this month, SSA Group also announced a continuation of its partnership with the Center of Science & Industry (COSI). The company has now taken over the museum’s retail operations, following its successful management of the attraction’s daytime dining and catering service for more than five years. COSI will benefit from SSA-bundled food and retail products in both the gift shop and food locations.
