Ecsite opens registrations for 2023 conference

Event will be hosted by Esplora Science Centre in Malta this June

Ecsite, the European network of science centres and museums, has announced that registration for Ecsite 2023 opens today, Wednesday 15 Febraury. The 2023 Ecsite Conference will take place 15-17 June and will be hosted by Esplora Science Centre in Malta.

Professionals involved in science engagement from more than 50 different nations come together at the Ecsite Conference to exchange knowledge, gain insight from one another, and establish crucial business relationships.

The Conference registration fee covers admission to 74 sessions covering a wide range of subjects, including exhibit development and the interaction between science and society. It also covers access to stimulating keynote addresses, interesting showcase events, and the lively Business Bistro trade show. A ticket to #Ecsite2023 also grants access to the Gala Dinner and Nocturne.

An international gathering

Since the initial Ecsite Conference in The Hague in 1990, attendance has risen to over 1000 international scientific engagement experts each year, who exchange knowledge, engage in lively discussion, and inspire each other. The Ecsite Conference in 2022, hosted by experimenta in Heilbronn, was attended by 47 nations from 6 continents, making it a truly international gathering.

This year’s host venue is Esplora, Malta’s Interactive Science Centre, an informal educational and leisure facility that caters to visitors of all ages. Esplora is situated near Villa Bighi in Kalkara with views of Grand Harbour, Malta. The Royal Navy once utilised the structure as a hospital. Following substantial growth and repair, it comprises of a variety of connected structures and outdoor areas.

Last month, Ecsite announced that the 2023 International Directors Forum on Science Engagement will take place from 15-16 November. It will be hosted by Ecsite member Heureka, The Finnish Science Centre.
