Framestore, the visual effects specialist, has announced the appointment of VFX supervisor William Laban at its London advertising division.
Laban has worked on a number of major projects, including Burberry’s Open Spaces’ and ‘Night Creatures’ directed by Megaforce, Hennessy X.O ‘The Seven Worlds’ directed by Sir Ridley Scott, John Lewis ‘Buster the Boxer’ directed by Dougal Wilson, and BT ‘Broadband Nightmares’ directed by The Sacred Egg. He has also won two VES Awards, two Gold British Arrows and a Gold Cannes Lions, amongst other accolades.
It’s a full circle moment for Laban, who began his VFX career at Framestore as a runner, before working his way through the ranks to the position of technical director, commercials. He moved to MPC in 2016, where he rose to the role of VFX supervisor, and then went on the hold that same role at The Mill. ‘
A wealth of experience

Earlier this year, Framestore also announced the promotion of Karl Woolley to global head of Immersive and the appointment of Mandy Agderian as executive producer.
The firm also recently scooped nine nominations collectively from the Visual Effects Society (VES) and Annie Awards. Nominees include Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, Top Gun: Maverick, and Slumberland.
