American Wave Machines (AWM), a leading wave pool, surf park and wave technology company, provided a six-acre PerfectSwell Surf Pool for the new Boa Vista Village in Brazil, where it serves as an anchor attraction for the unique residential development. During a grand opening celebration last month, JHSF, owners of the luxury brand Fasano, hosted an elegant pool party, and world-champion surfers put the new facility through its paces.
The venue is located in the countryside sixty minutes away from São Paulo and is home to beachfront condominiums, an international spa, a retail store, a clubhouse, and a beach resort, alongside the PerfectSwell Surf Pool.
Pro-surfers show their skills at Boa Vista Village
On the same day as the celebration, the WSL World Championship Tour competition in Rio de Janeiro was put on hold while the surfers were waiting for waves to come in. JHSF took advantage of the ideal circumstance by flying in Olympic gold medalists Italo Ferreira, Carissa Moore, and other professionals, so they could display their surfing skills in front of an enthusiastic audience.
Speaking about the experience, Moore said: “It was insane, so much fun, honestly exceeded expectations. I have not stopped smiling, and I probably won’t until tomorrow.” Talking about the training potential, Ferreira added: “For those who surf in high performance this is very positive, we can test several different equipment and boards in a short period of time.”
“At PerfectSwell Boa Vista we manage to cater to everyone, from beginners to surf champions who are always asking to come and train at Boa Vista,” said Eduardo Grinberg, director of operations and JHSF wave manager. “PerfectSwell waves are the real deal. Everything that happens in nature, happens in PerfectSwell.”

American Wave Machines is currently partnering with JHSF on another development in the city of São Paulo, called São Paulo Surf Club, featuring PerfectSwell. Another project that is underway is PerfectSwell Edgewater in Florida, US.
