Tokyo DisneySea has announced an opening date for its Fantasy Springs expansion and released a new video of the attraction as it approaches completion.
Fantasy Springs, the eighth themed port at Tokyo DisneySea, will open to the public on 6 June 2024. It contains three areas inspired by Frozen, Tangled and Peter Pan, as well as the Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel.
In Rapunzel’s Forest, guests will see the tower where Rapunzel has lived since she was a child and take a trip on the Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival boat ride. Also in the Tangled-themed area is the Snuggly Duckling restaurant.
At Frozen Kingdom, set after the events of the 2013 film Frozen, visitors will experience the kingdom of Arendelle and the Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey attraction. This area also offers the Royal Banquet of Arendelle restaurant within Arendelle Castle, and Oaken’s OK Foods.
As for Peter Pan’s Never Land, this features Captain Hook’s pirate ship and the iconic Skull Rock, as well as the Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure attraction and the Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies attraction in Pixie Hollow. Guests will dine in the Lookout Cookout restaurant.
The new hotel is the sixth Disney hotel in Japan. It includes a gift shop and three dining outlets – the Fantasy Springs Restaurant, Grand Paradis Lounge and La Libellule.
Tangled, Frozen and Peter Pan experiences
To visit Fantasy Springs, guests will need to book a free standby pass through the official Tokyo DisneySea app or purchase Disney Premier Access in addition to a valid park ticket.
Opened in 2001, Tokyo DisneySea is Tokyo Disney Resort’s second gate. The 49-hectare park currently boasts seven themed ports. Tokyo DisneySea started building the $2.2 billion eighth themed port in 2019.
Earlier this year, Oriental Land Company’s new chairman and CEO Yumiko Takano revealed plans to expand Tokyo Disney Resort further.
