Mad Systems Lory patent

System provides accessible personalised media content using a visitor’s smart device and hearing aids

Mad Systems Inc., the award-winning audiovisual and interactive system designer and integrator, has been awarded a patent for its groundbreaking streaming and AI-based technologies used within the Lory™ system.

This patent rounds off the firm’s 25th anniversary year and marks a significant step forward in Mad Systems’ mission to provide cutting-edge technology in public places, particularly assistance for guests with hearing impairments.

Promoting inclusivity

Venues including museums, theme parks, arenas, and cruise ships can transform their interactions with visitors using Lory, an advanced Personalised Media Delivery System. The granting of this patent not only demonstrates the unique attributes of Lory technology but also reaffirms Mad Systems’ position as a pioneer in AV innovation.

The Lory system has its roots in an understanding of the changing needs of today’s technology-driven audiences, with an initial focus on those with hearing impairments. Lory evolved as a vital means of promoting inclusivity and modernity, going beyond standard inductive loop technology.

Lory provides personalised media content which is adapted to individual needs, languages, and interests by utilising a visitor’s smart device and hearing aids.

Mad Systems’ dedication to inclusivity is further demonstrated by the incorporation of features such as sign language display and the continued development of braille devices, which ensure that all guests, regardless of disability, may have a full and immersive experience.

The latest patent is a reflection of the team’s imaginative approach to generating unique visitor experiences, as well as an acknowledgment of its technological expertise. Looking ahead, Mad Systems remains committed to developing and improving all guest experiences.

Mad Systems Inc. recently announced the successful prototype development for its Alice™ system. This technology is reshaping the landscape of storytelling by offering users personalised, highly engaging narratives controlled using a phone. Alice is part of Mad Systems’ AV++® ecosystem, which ensures a consistent narrative flow, while also interacting with other compatible systems.
