SEGD (the Society for Experiential Graphic Design), a multidisciplinary global community of professionals, has announced that the submission portal for this year’s SEGD Global Design Awards is now open.
The SEGD Global Design Awards represent the pinnacle of quality in experiential design, honouring designers and companies whose work exemplifies the organization’s objective to “Educate, Connect, Inspire, and Advocate.” Established in 1987, the awards set a gold standard for exceptional experiential design, celebrating projects that connect people to their environment and give places depth, meaning, and narrative.

“The SEGD Global Design Awards are the Academy Awards of the experience design profession,” says Cybelle Jones, CEO of SEGD. “They drive hundreds of thousands of visitors to our website annually and are widely recognized as the ultimate accolade in the industry.”
Recognising achievement in experiential design
The annual awards recognise outstanding achievements in experiential design across diverse subjects, fields, and industries within the following categories:
- Branded Environments
- Digital Experiences
- Exhibition
- Placemaking
- Public Installation
- Strategy/Research/Planning
- Wayfinding
Nu Goteh, the keynote speaker at the SEGD Conference Experience in 2023, will chair the jury. A multidisciplinary creative and designer, he creates for written, visual, and audio platforms. In addition to being co-founder and creative director of Deem Journal, Goteh is also co-founder of strategy and design agency Room for Magic. He says:
“I’m thrilled to announce my role as the Chair of the 2024 SEGD Global Design Awards Jury. Design is a powerful force that influences every facet of our existence. Our intentions are to select jurors with diverse perspectives in both practice and lived experience, to showcase innovative approaches in design and ignite inspiration for the future of design.”
The 2024 Global Design Awards Jury
Eight more highly regarded designers from around the world will be on the 2024 SEGD Global Design Awards jury. They will evaluate the submissions and assist in choosing the Global Design Award winners in March 2024. The 2024 jury members are:
- Emilie Baltz, experiential artist and creative director of Gensler DXD
- Germane Barnes, director of Studio Barnes
- Anna Crider, partner at Entro, past president of the SEGD Board of Directors, member of SEGD Board of Directors 2016-present
- Nick Kapica, experiential/graphic/urbanist, SEGD Wellington Chapter Chair, 2018 SEGD Chapter Chair Award Winner
- Norman Lee, co-founder and partner of RE:site Studio
- Niloufar Maleki, graphic designer at Monadnock
- Vijay Mathews, senior product art director at Spotify
- Kristine Matthews, owner and principal at Studio Matthews, 2018 SEGD Educator Award Winner
