Ireland’s Emerald Park has announced an opening date for its new Tír na nÓg land, and revealed the names of the land’s two new coasters.
Tír na nÓg, Emerald Park’s first fully themed and immersive land, opens on 22 May. Guests will get to ride two new intertwining coasters, named ‘Na Fianna Force’ and ‘The Quest’.
Both new roller coasters were made by Vekoma Rides, the Dutch roller coaster specialist. Na Fianna Force is a Suspended Thrill Coaster with a track length of 750m, speeds of up to 90 km/h, and three inversions.
The Quest, a Family Boomerang, is the smaller of the two roller coasters. It offers a top speed of 60 km/h, a track length of 450m, and airtime hills, dives and turns.
The €22 million Tír na nÓg land also includes the ‘Celtic Dreamer’ ride, a Zierer Wave Swinger featuring speeds of up to 36 km/h.
Additionally, the space contains new F&B outlets and retail spaces, all inspired by Tír na nÓg. In Irish mythology, Tír na nÓg is one of the names for the Celtic Otherworld.
“The opening represents a new chapter in our commitment to providing guests with unparalleled experiences, whether you’re seeking family fun or an adrenaline rush,” Charles Coyle, general manager of Emerald Park, said.

Jora Vision, a leading design and production company, worked on the theming strategy for the Tír na nÓg project.
Ahead of the launch, Emerald Park has announced a four-part documentary series called Nerves of Steel to air on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player from 10 May.
Coyle added, “We’re looking forward to sharing an exclusive look into all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes at Emerald Park from our various teams and departments as we gear up to the opening.”
