This year, two family-friendly attractions have opened at Knott’s Berry Farm and Peppa Pig Theme Park in Germany

Zamperla, a leading ride manufacturer, is celebrating a milestone year with the launch of two eagerly anticipated family-friendly attractions at leading theme parks.

These two Family Coaster 155s highlight immersive theming and first-rate customer service, demonstrating Zamperla’s commitment to providing guests of all ages with amazing experiences.

Adam Sandy, roller coaster sales and marketing director at Zamperla, says: “These two attractions exemplify Zamperla’s dedication to realizing our purpose of delivering smiles. It has been a lot of fun for our team to work with the IP owners to design parks limited only by the size of imagination, allowing even the youngest riders to experience the thrill of their first coaster adventure.”

Knott’s Berry Farm in the US has added Snoopy’s Tenderpaw Twister Coaster, a Zamperla Family Coaster 155, to its new Camp Snoopy world. The attraction is joined by a Super Happy Swing and a Dino Convoy and is already delighting children of all ages and their families. The coaster’s theming draws inspiration from the popular Peanuts characters.

Jon Storbeck, vice president and general manager at Knott’s Berry Farm, says: “Experiencing first rides and first theme park moments as a family is what Knott’s is all about. Our newly reimagined Camp Snoopy will allow parents and kids to ride and play together and be truly immersed in a summer camp experience right alongside the entire Peanuts Gang.”

This project marks a 30-year partnership between Knott’s Berry Farm and Zamperla. The Peanuts IP-inspired theming is one of the attraction’s key features. It provides a new experience for Knott’s Berry Farm visitors, complementing the park’s storytelling and demonstrating the skill and focus of Zamperla’s artistic team.

Enrico Patechi, creative design manager, says: “This has been one of the most challenging IPs for our team. Our artistic team works with great care, experience, and precision, which is crucial because working with intellectual properties is not easy. Adapting the IP to the strict rules of the mechanical ride and safety constraints is indeed demanding. We must achieve this without altering the IP, maintaining accurate proportions and design guidelines, and meeting both the client’s and the brand’s requirements.”

Thrills for first-time riders

Theming and IP work have also been extremely important for Papa Wutz’s Achterbahn (Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster), at the recently opened Peppa Pig Theme Park in Germany.

Scott O’Neil, Merlin CEO, commented at the opening: “Hasbro’s Peppa Pig and her loving family coming to Günzburg, Germany is our opportunity to bring joy, create connections, and make memories for families with young children throughout Europe.”

Papa Wutz’ Achterbahn is a Zamperla Family Coaster 155 designed for families with young children and a Zamperla Jumping Star. The popular ride takes customers on a trip with Daddy Pig and features a lift and launch that offer just the right level of thrills for first-time coaster riders.

Zamperla has also created Daddy Pig’s Roller Coasters for the Peppa Pig Theme Park in Florida, which debuted in 2022, and the Peppa Pig Theme Park in Dallas, which is scheduled to launch by the end of the year.

Last month, Zamperla and Dinosaur Dream Factory announced the launch of the latest Lightning coaster at Dinosaur DreamWorks in China. The ride marks Zamperla’s third Lightning coaster and the first with a vertical chain lift hill.
