Fabled Creative Ltd., the established UK-based master planning and design company, has spent over three years mastering Unreal Engine, a tool that is setting a new standard in the themed attraction industry. It started in 2021 when lead creative Andy Warner and design director Sandy White began exploring the software out of pure intrigue. The program’s realism and real-time rendering capabilities quickly proved invaluable, making it a key tool in the firm’s design process.

The themed attraction design industry is evolving exponentially. Advancements like AI-generated assets and custom Python plugins for 3D software are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. One of the most significant game-changers in recent years has been the rise of Unreal Engine.

Unlocking the potential

“Initially, Unreal Engine wasn’t the easiest tool to navigate, but with a curious mind, hard work and determination we quickly unlocked its potential to elevate our visualisations,” explains Fabled Creative.

“Next, we created newly imagined 3D environments to push ourselves, eventually using Unreal Engine for a live MMM project in June 2022. Since then, we’ve perfected a seamless workflow for moving our detailed design models from Cinema4D and Revit into Unreal Engine. This has allowed us to produce stunning real-time walkthroughs and interactive experiences.”

The company says that its use of Unreal Engine has revolutionised how it works with clients. It provides immersive, real-time visualisations that bring designs to life. Fabled Creative is also now integrating VR into its Unreal environments, allowing its clients to step directly into the worlds it creates.

Fabled Creative is using the power of Unreal Engine to push the boundaries of what’s possible in themed attraction design.

Earlier, the company launched a new venture, Valor of Camelot. This addition marked the debut of the company’s immersive and interactive Challenge range of products, specially designed for theme parks and visitor attractions.
