Induction reflects nearly 45 years of innovative design

ProSlide Technology Inc., an industry leader in water ride manufacturing and design, is celebrating the induction of its president and CEO, Rick Hunter, into the prestigious IAAPA Hall of Fame.

This accolade reflects Hunter and the ProSlide team’s significant contributions to the water park sector, which continue to uphold the firm’s almost 45-year tradition of innovation, dedication, and leadership.

Groundbreaking design

Since founding ProSlide in 1986, Hunter has transformed the design of water rides and introduced cutting-edge technologies and visitor experiences to water parks all over the world. Through his vision, ProSlide has been shaped, new industry standards have been defined, and 52 patents have been earned.

Hunter says: “We are deeply honored by this recognition from IAAPA. The journey has always been about breaking through the boundaries of what’s possible in water ride design. This induction is a tribute to the teams, partners, and clients who have trusted us to bring their visions to life.”

His entrepreneurial drive and commitment to creating a team of dedicated professionals has resulted in the development of iconic attractions such as Mammoth River, HydroMAGNETIC LIM water coasters, RocketBLAST propulsion systems, reducing-radius TORNADO funnels, and the world’s largest BOWLs, among others.

From Saifa at Siam Park to Wildebeest at Holiday World, these advances have been adopted by leading theme parks worldwide and have won over 100 honours, including four coveted IAAPA IMPACT honours, and 17 First Place IAAPA Best New Water Ride Awards in the last 21 years.

ProSlide continues its focus on innovative ride designs and exceptional visitor experiences, with Hunter at the helm. His induction into the IAAPA Hall of Fame recognises the collective accomplishments of the ProSlide community, both past and present.

“We are profoundly grateful to IAAPA for this honor and to our industry peers for their continued support. Rick’s passion for water parks continues to fuel ProSlide’s journey as we innovate for the future of water ride attractions,” says the firm.

IAAPA Hall of Fame inductees will be celebrated on 18 November 2024, during IAAPA Expo in Orlando, Florida.

ProSlide has also recently been honoured with two WWA Leading Edge Awards, which recognise the innovation, high performance, and partnerships that set water attractions apart. The awards were presented for projects Mega Mayhem at Rapids Waterpark in Florida, and The Water Temple at El Dorado Water Park in the Caribbean.
