Red Engine plans to open eight new venues this year

Flight Club and Electric Shuffle operator Red Engine has reported record-breaking financial results, and unveiled its global expansion plans for 2025.

The company has announced fourth-quarter sales of £25.3 million, up 24 percent year-on-year. Red Engine’s sales combined with its franchise partners reached £38.4m, up 23 percent compared to the same period in 2023.

Additional record-breaking moments for Red Engine in Q4 include every company-owned venue achieving its best-ever weekly sales performance.

“We are thrilled to report such strong Q4 results, especially as we enter this milestone year celebrating a decade of social darts,” said Ross Shepley-Smith, CFO at Red Engine.

“This past year has presented significant challenges for the hospitality sector, making these results all the more rewarding and underlining the strength and resilience of our brands.”

As for the company’s expansion, Red Engine plans to open eight new venues this year, taking its global estate to 39 attractions by the end of 2025.

This plan includes six new Flight Club locations and two new Electric Shuffle venues, while franchise partners will continue to open attractions in the US, Australia and Ireland.

Already this year, these partners have opened Flight Club venues in Dublin, Washington DC and St Louis. Flight Club Philadelphia and a second Sydney venue are scheduled to open later in the year.

Also, Red Engine will open Electric Shuffle King’s Cross in London, Electric Shuffle Chicago in the US, and Flight Club Newcastle in the UK.

Red Engine to offer 39 competitive socialising venues

“It brings us immense pride to bring joy to others through our social experiences, and we look forward to the opportunity to spread that joy even further in the year ahead as we take our brands to new cities across the globe in 2025,” said Shepley-Smith.

“This success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our incredible teams including our great franchise partners, and we are so grateful for the support of our loyal community, who continue to embrace the unique fun that Flight Club and Electric Shuffle offer.”

Last year, Red Engine opened four new sites: Flight Club Liverpool and Oxford, and Electric Shuffle Manchester and New York. Its Australian Flight Club franchise partner launched two more venues, one in Sydney and the other in Melbourne.

Currently, Red Engine oversees 24 Flight Club venues and seven Electric Shuffle sites. It owns and operates all Flight Club UK venues, and all Electric Shuffle UK and US venues. Flight Club sites outside of the UK are operated under license.
