Parc Spirou shares a first look at the construction site

Parc Spirou in Monteux, France has started building its new Naruto-themed area, inspired by the Japanese manga series and home to a Zamperla coaster.

Parc Spirou has shared a first look at the construction site of the new area, a 15,000-square-metre space based on the Konoha village in Naruto, which tells the story of a young ninja named Naruto Uzumaki.

The Naruto-themed area at Parc Spirou is scheduled to open in 2026. It includes a new family launch coaster by Zamperla, a leading ride manufacturer.

Hervé Lux, general manager of Parc Spirou, said in November: “With this partnership, we’re confident we’re offering our visitors an exciting and safe experience, ideal for those needing that ‘first big coaster’ while also satisfying teens and young adults looking for a coaster with excitement.”

Enrico Patechi, creative design manager at Zamperla, said: “Our goal was to create an experience that feels like an extension of Naruto’s world, and we believe fans will love the final product.

“It was challenging to translate the 2D manga into detailed 3D fiberglass elements.”

Opened in 2018, Parc Spirou is a family-friendly theme park covering just 4.5 hectares. It’s named after the magazine Journal Spirou and its iconic comic characters.

Daniel Bulliard, president of Parc Spirou, told blooloop in a 2020 interview: “In some parks, like Futuroscope, you have a lot of media attractions. In others, there are just rides. We are a hybrid park.

“Because we have cartoon characters, you can have roller coasters and rides. But you can also have media attractions. It is something a little different than you can expect from other leisure parks.”
