Area15, an experiential art and entertainment hub in Las Vegas, has topped out the buildings in its 20-acre expansion and shared a first look at the development.
Set to open in August 2025, the expansion is dubbed Zone 2: The Terminals. It includes eight buildings offering a total of 300,000 square feet of retail, entertainment, and F&B experiences.
It also includes Burning Man’s famous Boeing 747, which has now been installed and is being transformed into an event and nightlife venue.
Measuring 150 feet in length and 60 feet in width, the airplane fuselage will anchor Area15’s open-air collection of art installations.
When the expansion is complete, the Area15 District will boast 60 sculptures and 30 murals in its collection.
Winston Fisher, CEO of Area15, said: “The installation of the 747 and the vertical rise of Zone 2: The Terminals aren’t just construction milestones – they’re symbolic of the momentum we’ve built.
Area15 to offer a total of 40 acres
“We’re redefining what experiential development can look like by merging visionary brands, radical creativity and the future of immersive entertainment.”
Area15 started out as a single, 200,000-square-foot building for immersive experiences. After the expansion, it will offer a total of 40 acres.
The first attraction to open in the development is Universal Horror Unleashed, which is scheduled to launch in August.
From the creators of Halloween Horror Nights, this is Universal’s first-ever permanent horror experience. It includes four haunted houses and four immersive areas for live entertainment, creepy craft cocktails and food.
Highlights in the expansion also include the Museum of Ice Cream’s largest flagship venue and Interstellar Arc by Felix & Paul Studios, a leader and pioneer in creating and producing virtual, augmented, and mixed-reality experiences.
The expansion has been made possible by a $161 million construction financing package arranged by Fisher Brothers, the real estate developer behind the project.
