Resorts World Sentosa has unveiled Singapore Oceanarium ahead of the new aquarium’s opening, now set for 23 July.
Singapore Oceanarium is a new attraction dedicated to marine education, research and conservation with interactive exhibits and immersive display.
It is a transformation and expansion of the former S.E.A. Aquarium at Resorts World Sentosa, and is three times larger than its predecessor.

“Singapore Oceanarium represents the next frontier for marine education and sustainability,” said Tan Hee Teck, CEO of Resorts World Sentosa.
“We have created not just a destination, but a catalyst for change, a place where curiosity transforms into knowledge, and knowledge into real action.”
At Singapore Oceanarium, guests will enjoy an immersive journey across 22 zones, including Ocean Wonders, which houses thousands of moon jellies.

Singapore’s Coast features interactive habitats that highlight native biodiversity, while life-sized prehistoric animals and living fossils can be found in Ancient Waters and Conquering Land.
The Migrators zone unveils the ecosystems of today’s open waters, and Open Ocean showcases reef manta rays and zebra sharks behind a 36-metre-wide viewing panel.
Spirit of Exploration boasts a replica of a 9th-century Arabian dhow, while Explorer’s Nook is a themed cafe.
S.E.A. Aquarium transformation
Singapore Oceanarium also includes a marine-inspired retail space selling products created by sustainable brands.
Lam Xue Ying, vice president of the Singapore Oceanarium, said: “This transformation from S.E.A. Aquarium to a purpose-driven institute has been years in the making.
“We are dedicated to inspiring a new generation of ocean stewards by taking ocean education and interactive storytelling to the next level, through naturalistic habitats and immersive technology.
“Supported by academic partnerships, international accreditations and memberships, as well as our new research and learning centre, we’re furthering our commitment to marine conservation, research and education.”

As above, the research and learning centre is located adjacent to the aquarium. It is equipped with learning labs, workspaces, seminar rooms, and a rooftop event space.
The new Singapore Oceanarium is part of a $5 billion expansion of Resorts World Sentosa.
