Universal Rocks, an expert in planning, building, and developing themed areas that reproduce the beauty of nature, has designed and executed all the new façades for the hotel expansion at French theme park Nigloland. In June 2025, the park completed Hôtel Cabaïana, alongside the fully renovated Hotel des Pirates and the transformation of their shared restaurant into Erizo.
For Universal Rocks, the scope of work included the creation and implementation of all the new façades, including the entrance canopy and thematic building fronts. The company utilised sprayed concrete, sculptural wall treatments, and lively painting to infuse a vibrant Latin American and South American spirit into both the hotel’s and restaurant’s interiors and exteriors.
Blending art, architecture and storytelling
Cabaïana adds 20 premium cabins that can host up to 6 guests each, organised like a village behind the main hotel. Both hotel zones share the same lobby and restaurant facilities.
Erizo features six immersive dining rooms inspired by South American exploration, including Cocina, Casa del Ron, Arsenal, Musical Club, Salle du Savoir, and Captain’s Hall. Additionally, the newly expanded terrace, ‘El Patio,’ now accommodates up to 400 guests thanks to extended canopies and façade work.
Universal Rocks managed all interior and exterior façade sculpting at Erizo, incorporating thematic reliefs, textures, and environmental finishes throughout. “We are proud to continue our collaboration with Nigloland and contribute to their spectacular evolution,” says the company.
This project showcases Universal Rocks’ ability to deliver immersive theming and environment transformations on a large scale, blending architecture, art, and storytelling to enhance the guest experience across hotel, food, and beverage offerings.
“In any project there are always ups and downs, but Universal Rocks find solutions that are not only effective but also beautiful. It’s the ideal approach for parks like ours,” says Bradon Cheddadi from Nigloland.
“This expansion demonstrates our core philosophy—melding artistic theming, sculptural craftsmanship and adaptive construction to bring spaces to life. From sprayed‑concrete façades to painted and sculpted interiors, Cabaïana and Erizo exemplify how we embed storytelling into every surface,” adds Universal Rocks.
Recently, Universal Rocks shared details of its 2025 slate, in which it is contributing to several major projects at theme parks, resorts, and leisure facilities throughout Europe. With innovative and long-lasting creations, the company continues to set benchmarks for the sector and elevate visitor experiences at leading European destinations.
