Mixed reality (XR) developer DreamPark is opening a new location in Seattle this weekend, as part of its plans to build the world’s largest XR theme park.
DreamPark transforms ordinary spaces into immersive experiences, overlaying digital worlds onto physical environments through a network of access points, or physical markers like QR codes.
These digital worlds are accessible via Meta Quest headsets or mobile devices.
DreamPark has already created installations at Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade and the LA County Fair, with planned expansions in Seattle, Orange County, and several expos and corporate events.
The Seattle space, a 25,000-square-foot XR attraction, is opening to the public tomorrow (19 July) at West Canal Yards, DreamPark has announced.
The company said the new venue offers free-roam XR games and “brings digital magic to life, right on the Ballard waterfront”.
DreamPark’s US expansion plans
DreamPark was co-founded by Brent Bushnell, Aidan Wolf, and Kevin Habich. For its expansion plans, the developer has secured $1.1 million in seed funding.
Bushnell, who also co-founded the Two Bit Circus micro-amusement park in Los Angeles, said in a previous statement: “We’re building the world’s largest theme park – one that exists everywhere and is accessible to everyone.
“We want to make getting out to play worthwhile again.”

He added, “This investment allows us to expand our footprint of access points across the country rapidly, develop partnerships with premium IP holders, and continue enhancing our technology to deliver magical experiences that bring people back to real-world spaces.”
The global XR live event market was valued at $3.6 billion in 2024 and is projected to grow to $190.3bn by 2034.
