Mint marks 20 years with expansion into Saudi Arabia

News

Mint, an industry leader in architectural theming and 3D fabrication, is celebrating 20 years of operations in the Gulf with a major new expansion in Riyadh. Since its founding, the company has delivered concept-to-completion solutions for theme parks, attractions, leisure, museums, retail, and experiential destinations across the GCC and beyond.

The Riyadh launch underscores Mint’s role in supporting Saudi Arabia’s entertainment and cultural transformation. With three production facilities now across the UAE and KSA, the company has expanded its workforce from around 100 to over 500, significantly scaling its capacity and strengthening regional supply chains.

Expanded capabilities

This expanded footprint enables end-to-end delivery, spanning engineering, FRP moulding, themed fabrication, specialised fit-out, metalwork, joinery, finishes, and on-site installation, while shortening lead times and increasing efficiency.

“Scaling our footprint across the Gulf allows us to execute larger, more complex programs at speed without compromising the quality our partners expect,” says Wassim Chaya, founder & CEO at Mint.

“This growth is about proximity to our clients, deeper localisation, and creating opportunities for regional talent.”

The investment also builds on Mint’s digital upgrades in BIM-enabled engineering, digital manufacturing, and ERP-driven reporting. These improvements enhance transparency, cost control, and schedule certainty from design through handover, with production now synchronised between the UAE and KSA.

Partnerships and new technologies

As part of its expansion, Mint has formalised a strategic partnership with Scenario to deliver large-scale themed environments and specialised fit-out across Saudi Arabia.

This gives both firms a significant competitive edge in the Saudi and regional markets, primarily through increased capacity and combined capabilities. The partnership leverages factories and teams from across the globe, including those in the US, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Manila, and Shanghai, and aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

The collaboration integrates engineering, procurement, and fabrication resources, enabling joint production planning, shared QA/QC standards, and localised execution. The result: shorter lead times, greater capacity, and improved cost certainty for multi-site programs.

Through this partnership, Mint is already supporting Saudi Entertainment Ventures (SEVEN) in delivering four family entertainment centres across Riyadh, Tabuk, Madinah, and Yanbu, with further FECs in the pipeline. Together, the companies are well-positioned to execute these programs more efficiently, at a greater scale, and with tighter governance.

“Partnering with Scenario and scaling our additive manufacturing unlocks speed without compromising craft,” says Ali Saleh, COO and managing partner at Mint.

“By combining localised fabrication with digital production, we can execute more complex scopes in parallel, de-risk schedules, and deliver consistent quality for our clients across the region.”

The foundation of the partnership is a combination of transparency, trust, and shared goals, adds Saleh. “Together, we can meet the growing demand in the region and clearly communicate to clients what we can achieve as a united team.”

In parallel, Mint has invested in large-format 3D printing and digital mould-making. Integrated with its BIM-to-factory workflows, the new capability accelerates production of master models, FRP tooling, and complex architectural features – compressing cycles from weeks to days, reducing waste, and improving repeatability.

Looking ahead

By combining scaled production, digital manufacturing, and programme-level oversight, Mint is stepping onto the global stage, competing with the world’s leading players in both speed and precision while staying true to its craftsmanship.

The company remains equally focused on delivering the highest-quality experiences and products for clients throughout the region, supporting them in achieving their vision.

Chaya and Saleh will attend the upcoming IAAPA Expo Europe 2025 in Barcelona, Spain. Attendees interested in connecting with Mint at the show can contact Chaya via email.
