Rocky Mountain Construction

Premier manufacturer of innovative and thrilling roller coasters.

Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) is a world-leading roller coaster manufacturer, creating rides that have revolutionised the attractions industry.

Based in Hayden, Idaho, RMC has been making waves in the world of roller coaster design for over two decades. Today, they offer a diverse range of coaster products and solutions, ranging from thrilling ground up roller coasters, to family coasters, and wooden coaster refurbishments.

The team at RMC are experts at creating bespoke attractions for parks. With 90% of the manufacturer’s rides produced at their in-house facility, clients can expect turnkey solutions on an efficient time scale and at an excellent value.

Technology

Hybrid and Reprofiled I-Box Coasters

I-Box track is RMC’s most popular coaster track type, allowing wooden coasters to navigate elements never before possible with standard coaster track. Steeper drops, inversions, twisted elements, launches and more are all possible, whilst maintaining a smooth reliable ride experience. I-Box track can either be implemented as part of a ground-up installation or as part of a reprofiling solution for existing coasters. The latter has revitalised wooden coasters around the world, transforming legacy rides into thrilling custom layouts that utilise existing support structures.

Raptor Coasters

Raptor Coasters represent a groundbreaking innovation for the industry, providing parks with single rail coasters that minimise cost and footprint, but maximise impact and thrills. The unique seating style of Raptor Coaster trains has guests sitting in single-seat cars, personalising the experience for each rider. The single rail technology provides more value to parks than traditional steel coasters and also allows for the coaster type to fit into more compact footprints.

Family Coasters

The latest development from RMC, the new Wild Moose Coaster model is an innovative solution for the family market. A reimagining of the Wild Mouse coaster, Wild Moose provides family-level thrills in a scaled-down package that represents a higher throughput, more reliable alternative to the classic coaster type.

Another option from RMC is the Family I-Box Coaster which brings all the benefits of the standard I-Box track but is tailored for a family audience. With a smaller footprint, the Family I-Box coaster can help to maximise the real estate of your park, whilst still providing an impactful ride experience for all ages.

Wood Coaster Refurbishment

RMC has developed the latest technology in wooden coaster track replacement. 208 ReTraK can help to extend the life of older wooden coasters, with a lifetime five times the length of standard wooden track. This solution ensures that parks have to spend less time repairing existing rides, and provides guests with a more smooth and enjoyable experience.

Projects

RMC has created many projects around the world, working with leading operators to build truly unique experiences. Notable projects include:

RMC’s first project in Europe, Wildfire is a ground-up wooden coaster at Kolmården in Sweden. Featuring a thrilling near-vertical drop and three inversions, Wildfire uses RMC topper track to take riders through a fast-paced terrain-based layout.

Untamed at Walibi Holland

UNTAMED at Walibi Holland

UNTAMED at Walibi Holland is a reprofiling of the park’s original wooden roller coaster ‘Robin Hood’. Making use of the existing support structure, UNTAMED is an example of how an existing ride can be transformed by RMC.

RailBlazer at Californias Great America

As part of the debut for RMC’s Raptor track, RailBlazer uses single rail technology to create an exciting and compact layout. The in-line seating ensures that all seats provide a unique ride experience, and the robust track shape means fewer supports are needed in comparison to traditional steel roller coasters.
