Barco reveals new innovations at ISE 2020

Barco, the technology company focusing on innovative visualization solutions, has had a successful visit to ISE 2020 this week, where it has unveiled several innovations, including new additions to its UDM projector range.

Barco is pleased to have been exhibiting at ISE 2020 in Amsterdam this week, where the team connected with clients both old and new and showcased a wide range of visualization solutions. One key new product is an addition to its UDM laser projection portfolio.

The UDM is a compact and light projector, weighing in at less than 50kg without compromising on the quality of the image.

UDM’s new little brother

Barco has now added two 15k lumens versions to the range, the UDM-4K15 and UDM-W15. The UDM provides sharp images and bright colours. It comes with a big list of available peripherals, and also has the capacity to rotate in any directions, meaning that a wide range of configurations is possible. In addition to this, the UDM can integrate with the new Barco Insights IoT platform, meaning that remote monitoring and servicing are simple.

Expanded LED offering

The company has also expanded its LED offering with the addition of five new models to its LED XT series. It already renewed its focus on high-res technology last year, when it launched the premium XT series, as well as announcing its strategic partnership with Unilumin, the Chinese LED manufacturer.

These new models are suitable for a range of indoor LED applications, using narrow pixel pitch LED tiles to achieve quality visuals and high reliability, alongside flexibility of operation. The company hs optimised the Unilumin hardware to ensure a seamless viewing experience. The whole XT range includes the trusted LED image-processing solution, Infinipix. Users will also benefit from Barco’s EssentialCare service package with up to seven years of batch compatible replacement.

The new XT-E and XT-HB provide the same level of quality but have been designed to meet a range of different needs in Barco’s targeted core segments, for example, control rooms, television studios, workplace and 3D visualization.

The XT-E series is a new entry-level range (600 nits). It includes tiles with 1.2, 1.5 and 1.9mm pixel pitches, ideal for customers wanting a quality product without all the extras. Meanwhile, the XT1.9-HB and XT2.5-HB provide a high brightness range, going up to 1500 nits. These have been developed to perform in large, bright spaces, such as lobbies and experience centres.

Barco Insights

The company also unveiled Barco Insights at ISE, the first IoT platform for projectors. This cloud-based Internet of Things solution for enhanced projector management will enable streamlined remote monitoring and serviceability.

Barco Insights features live dashboards. These mean that operators can monitor real-time information, in order to discover and troubleshoot issues more easily. They can access the securely on any device with an internet connection.

Barco also recently announced that it has extended its partnership with French artainment venture Culturespaces. For the next three years, it will remain the exclusive provider of projectors for Culturespaces’ digital art exhibitions across the globe, including Atelier des Lumières in Paris.
