China Leisure Development Co. is working with ViacomCBS to develop a Nickelodeon-themed FEC in Shenzhen, China.
China Leisure Development Co., a Hong Kong company dedicated to developing and managing world-class leisure experiences and projects, and ViacomCBS, are pleased to announce that they are working in partnership on the new Nickelodeon Playtime FEC, which is expected to open at Shenzhen OCT Happy Harbour in the final quarter of 2020.
New Nickelodeon Playtime FEC
The new FEC will include much-loved IPs within four attraction zones, featuring SpongeBob SquarePants, PAW Patrol, Dora the Explorer, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as well as Nickelodeon branded retail and a sit-down play café.
Nickelodeon Playtime at Shenzhen OCT Happy Harbor will extend these iconic brands beyond the screen, bringing them to life and immersing visitors in a world of fun, where they can play with their favourite characters.
JRA, a leading experience designer, is also collaborating with China Leisure on the project. It has provided master planning, writing and concept development, attraction design, and graphic design for Nickelodeon Playtime.
Linda Dong, President of China Leisure says: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Nickelodeon to bring their highly popular brands to life in an FEC format. We see rapid growth in family entertainment spending in China and strong demand from shopping centers for experiential products. Nickelodeon Playtime is part of our strategy to capitalize on this trend.”
Gerald Raines, Senior Vice President, Global Location Based Experiences, ViacomCBS, adds: “Connecting with audiences on-the-ground through immersive experiences remains an integral part of Nickelodeon’s global business. We are proud to partner with China Leisure to launch Nickelodeon Playtime and bring the brand and its iconic characters to families in Shenzhen and the surrounding areas.”
ViacomCBS is comprised of many of the world’s most well-known consumer brands. Its portfolio includes Network 10, Channel 5, Telefe, Viacom International Studios, Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, BET, Paramount Network and Pluto TV among others.
Last year, JRA worked on the new Runaway Tram roller coaster at Morey’s Piers in Wildwood, New Jersey.
