Electrosonic wins Best Museum Project of the Year

Electrosonic, a leading international audiovisual and technology services company, has announced that it is has been honoured with a 2019 Commercial Integrator Integration Award in the Best Museum Project category.

Electrosonic is proud to have been recognised at the 2019 Commercial Integrator Integration Awards in the Best Museum Project category. The winners of the award were announced at InfoComm 2019 in Orlando. The Commercial Integrator Integration Awards are made up of 13 categories. They are designed to recognise and celebrate innovative, problem-solving installations that meet commercial customers needs.

Electrosonic was singled out for the company’s work on Sheikh Abdullah al Salem Cultural Centre (SAASCC). The 22,000 square metre attraction in Kuwait is the largest museum project in the world. It is home to four museums, exploring Natural History, Science, Space, and Arabic Islamic Science. These museums include over 800 exhibits and interactives, spread across 23 unique galleries.

Electrosonic Sheikh Abdullah al Salem Cultural CentreThe company was responsible for the design of all the AV exhibits.  It was also one of the AV integrators. Electrosonic delivered AV hardware, fit out and integration for exhibits dedicated to Transport and Innovation, the Human Body and Mind, and Arabic Islamic Science. During the project, Electrosonic installed over 250 exhibits. Highlights include a spherical dark ride theatre which takes guests on a journey through the human body. It features 4D full-motion seating and a 6-metre immersive screen.

“Electrosonic is extremely pleased to be recognized for our work on the SAASCC,” says Jon Hancock, CEO of the Electrosonic Group Ltd.  “This large-scale project required us to be flexible and responsive with our on-site engineering team, who worked in desert temperatures of up to 50º C.  We also optimized engineering to achieve consistent results throughout the project milestones and applied LEAN methods and automation to simplify commissioning and conserve resources.”

Electrosonic also recently announced that another project, The National Comedy Center, received an honourable mention in the AAM Media and Technology MUSE awards.
