Triotech, the award-winning creator of media-based attractions, is celebrating the installation of a new XD Dark Ride at Rainbow’s End theme park in New Zealand.
Triotech is proud to announce the installation of the biggest XD Dark Ride in the Southern Hemisphere, the new Spectra XD Dark Ride at Rainbow’s End theme park in New Zealand. The immersive 7D theatre experience is custom made for the park and seats 28 guests.
This new attraction replaces the park’s 3D Motion Master ride and features different 3D movies packed with extra special effects, as well as light blasters so that visitors can be part of the action.
School holiday fun
The ride is now open in time for the school summer holidays, meaning that guests can enjoy a fun experience after getting through the COVID-19 pandemic. It was initially due to open for the April school holidays, but lockdown caused work to pause as the Triotech team returned to Canada.
Once New Zealand was able to move out of lockdown, Triotech worked remotely with the park’s construction and maintenance teams to finish the project and prepare it for opening.
“We are really excited to be opening the Spectra XD Dark Ride in time for the July school holidays”, says Karen Crabb, CEO. “It has been a massive team effort to complete the installation and theming. Kiwis are incredibly creative and resourceful and this is a great example of how we can pull together to create an entertainment offering that rivals our international counterparts.”
”We are happy to bring Triotech’s award-winning attractions to Rainbow’s End,” says Ernest Yale, Triotech’s Founder and CEO. ”The one thing about the XD Dark Ride is that guests always come out with a smile! It appeals to everyone, it’s immersive, it’s interactive, they play, they compete, they are part of the action.”
This month, Triotech also announced that it has helped to deliver two exclusive custom XD films for Singapore Discovery Centre.
