The Park Playground, a unique VR franchise, has announced the launch of its newest location-based entertainment (LBE) VR escape room. The latest title, The Break-in, features customised artificial intelligence (AI)-generated artwork in a fully interactive heist-themed adventure. Using HTC VIVE FOCUS 3 headsets, The Break-in offers players an entirely untethered adventure in which they collaborate to solve riddles and find missing artwork.
Designed for those who are 12 years of age and older, The Break-in invites groups of two to eight participants to cooperate on a daring quest to recover a priceless masterpiece that has vanished from a secured vault full of AI-generated artwork. Teams must navigate the maze-like Crompton Bank, solve riddles, retrieve keycards, and dodge lasers in order to find it while avoiding the rival team.
The experience includes first-of-its-kind in-game mechanics, spectacular cinematic moments, and slow-motion effects. The team, which is temporarily split, must communicate nonverbally by writing on a virtual windowpane and repelling buildings in order to locate the artwork.
AI-generated artwork
One of the main features of The Break-in is the incorporation of AI-generated art, which enables players to have a unique, personalised experience each time they play. Upon arriving, participants will collaborate to answer a series of questions that will determine how the artwork in their experience will look when it is generated in real time.
Previously, Park Playground used AI technology in its free-roaming VR battle experience, NanoClash Focus. This game incorporates AI-generated avatars for every player that are rendered into the experience in real time.
“It’s always exciting to introduce a new experience to our players. The addition of The Break-in adds to our diverse library of original IPs to continue to accommodate all guests, regardless of their age or interest. I’m thrilled that we’re continuing our journey of bringing AI technology into the VR world, with the introduction of The Break-in” says The Park Playground’s CEO, Peter Vindevogel.
“We believe that technology should always be used in a way that creates the best possible experience for our customers and in this instance, integrating AI is allowing us to create a truly unique and social experience, each and every time it’s played.”
Earlier this month, The Park Playground revealed that Center Parcs is the first customer for its new turnkey VR facility solution, The Park VR System.
