Sim Leisure is planning an IPO in Singapore to fund expansion of its family adventure theme parks, which focus on childhood play, in Asia.
The Dubai based company has enjoyed success with its Escape theme park in Malaysia. The award winning attraction features adventure play and a waterpark in Penang.
Arabian Business reports that an IPO of the Malaysian theme park business could raise about S$10-12 million ($7-9 million).
Sim Leisure expect that their brand of adventure play in a natural environment, rather than high tech attractions and thrill rider will prove a hit elsewhere in Asia. Proceeds will be used to fund a new theme park in eastern China’s Shandong province.
Adventure play and attractions in a natural environment were key trends highlighted at last month’s blooloopLIVE conference.
