The Park Playground, a unique VR franchise, has announced the launch of ‘The Park VR Tournament’, a new customisable offering for team-building events and large groups that includes hospitality packages.

In the esports-inspired interactive virtual reality battle arena called NanoClash Focus, which The Park Playground introduced last year, up to 48 players—divided into teams of four to eight—compete in the tournament. During a four-hour period, each team plays two three-round games, and the top-performing teams square off in a thrilling final.

“The Park VR Tournament is an exciting example of how we’re harnessing our immersive VR experiences in new and creative ways to push the boundaries of what’s possible,” says The Park Playground’s CEO, Peter Vindevogel. “NanoClash Focus’ cross-pollinated LBVR and gaming format was a perfect fit for this tournament to help us create engaging social entertainment that maximises interactivity among groups.”

Meeting the demands of the experience economy

The Park VR Tournament, which reaches beyond the average VR gamer, complements the business’s current group VR experience packages, drawing in guests of all demographics and experience levels. The new offering is key to the company’s objective of “levelling up” experiences in order to attract new customers and satisfy the changing demands of the experience generation—a group of people who desire personalised, entertainment-driven social interactions.

In addition to providing fun for larger groups, The Park VR Tournament fosters social contact and teamwork because of its strategy and collaboration components, resulting in effective team-building exercises.

“We believe immersive tech is key to unlocking the future of entertainment,” adds Vindevogel.

“Today’s audiences want to experience shared social experiences more. Meeting their lofty expectations depends on investing in the best technology to create exciting, multi-layered group experiences. This is something The Park Playground is 100% committed to. We’re currently ploughing significant investment into the accessibility and longevity of our experiences. Operators that don’t risk getting left behind.”

The newest virtual reality sports battle, NanoClash Focus utilises HTC VIVE 3 headsets for maximum mobility. In a lively and engaging setting, groups of four to eight people shoot rivals from hanging platforms. The objective is to bring your platform closer to the arena floor and the enemy’s platform farther away. Teams can gain an edge throughout the game by using “power-ups.” Players must constantly reassess their tactics and alter their positions, which fosters competitive gameplay and collaboration.

The Park VR Tournament for NanoClash Focus is now available globally across all its UK and Europe locations.

Earlier this year, The Park Playground team attended the Dubai Entertainment, Amusement and Leisure Leisure Exhibition for the first time, where they showcased The Park VR System, the company’s newest VR turnkey solution.
