Six Flags has unveiled some of the new technologies, mostly driven by artificial intelligence (AI), being used to enhance the guest experience.
Earlier this year, Six Flags launched what it called “the largest digital alliance in the theme park industry” to revolutionise the guest experience at its parks.
The partnership includes Google and Dell, as well as technology consulting company HCLTech, data cloud company Snowflake, mobile app developer Fueled, and entertainment company Pure Imagination Studios.
“Our guests are at the heart of everything we do, and this digital transformation is a testament to our commitment to providing unparalleled experiences where technology meets fun and excitement,” said Selim Bassoul, CEO of Six Flags.
“AI allows us to enrich and personalize every guest touchpoint.”

Via a press release, AI has been a cornerstone of Six Flags’ digital strategy. The company’s new website, due to launch this year, will use AI to personalise the visitor experience.
As part of this, a new digital concierge powered by generative AI and named Missi Six will debut on the Six Flags app and website.
The app is also being revamped to include interactive maps, mobile food ordering, and customised recommendations.
The company’s new digital wallet will provide access to guests’ loyalty benefits and allow visitors to use their preferred payment methods across all of Six Flags’ theme parks and water parks.
Additionally, Six Flags is rolling out state-of-the-art video and photo technology on its coasters. The company also said it is launching the largest esports initiative in the theme park industry, and a new metaverse gaming platform.
Enhancing the guest experience
As for F&B and retail innovations, Six Flags is adding F&B self-service kiosks, as well as QR codes and NFC technology at restaurants for quick ordering. Soon, the company will introduce retail self-checkout options.
Six Flags is also using new sensors in its parks to provide accurate wait times for rides, and a new parking system utilises computer vision and AI to recognise registered license plates.
At its water parks, the company is introducing “the world’s most comprehensive AI drowning prevention system”, according to a press release.
“We are transforming Six Flags into a technology-centric entertainment company. With the formation of the largest global digital alliance in the theme park industry, we are setting the foundation to lead with innovation and digital excellence,” said Omar Jacques Omran, chief digital officer of Six Flags.
“Six Flags is reinventing amusement, making every moment more personalized and efficient.”
