New signs enhance the guest experience as well as assisting the park’s technical teams

Telelogos, a software publisher that creates digital signage to improve the customer and employee onsite experience for retail and leisure attractions around the world, has helped Parc Asterix to implement new digital screens around the park.

Parc Asterix is one of France’s most popular theme parks with over 2 million visitors a year. To date, more than 50 million guests have visited the park which features attractions and shows themed around the much loved comic book series by Albert Uderzo and René Goscinny.

With visitor numbers continuing to grow, the park opted for a digital signage solution that would both improve the guest experience and support its operational teams.

Digital signage improves efficiency behind the scenes

The digital signage screens located at the most popular attractions throughout the 34-hectare park help to make visitors’ day out easier, showing waiting times in real-time as well as daily show schedules, safety messages and promotions. This leads to improved crowd management and streamlines the visitor experience.

However, the move to install digital signage also benefits the park behind the scenes. It assists Parc Asterix’s technicians in their day to day tasks by making key information easily visible. Screens are positioned in the park’s various technical areas, where they display important reminders and interventions for the equipment, in real-time.

For instance, the cold storage rooms have digital screens to show the temperatures at a glance, avoiding any loss of goods. The necessary follow-ups and maintenance actions of the park’s lighting system are also displayed using digital signage.

Autonomous management of content

Meanwhile, the park’s 3 hotels are now home to digital signage screens that can be managed independently by hotel staff. These can show relevant information for each different hotel, for example, room availability, breakfast times, and character meet and greet sessions. They can also be personalized with a company’s colours for private hire events such as seminars or conferences.

“Parc Asterix operates like a small city in which each department has its own needs and specificities,” says Grégory Cosnard, of the park’s IT Department. “Digital signage allows us to improve the visitor experience as well as to supervise the park and guarantee the quality of the services we offer.”

Last year, Telelogos also announced that it has provided digital signage to Puy du Fou in France. This installation has improved information and guidance, boosted the customer experience, optimised attendance and enhanced security.
