Improved information and guidance boosts customer experience, optimises attendance and enhances security

Telelogos, a software publisher that creates digital signage to improve the customer and employee onsite experience for retail and leisure attractions around the world, has worked with one of the world’s leading theme parks to introduce state-of-the-art digital signage.

At Puy du Fou in France, which has twice been voted the best amusement park in the world, the new technology helps to welcome, inform and guide visitors to the 150-hectare park, enhancing the guest experience for a stress-free day out.

Digitised visitor routes & crowd management

Puy du Fou welcomes over 2.3 million guests annually, who come to enjoy its unique shows, and on its busiest days has almost 40,000 visitors in the park. In addition, it employs over 2,300 team members, in season. This generates critical challenges in the management of visitor flow, the optimization of the occupancy in the various attractions and the overall security of guests and staff.

The operator, looking for the right solution to solve these challenges, realised that digital signage is easy to deploy and cost-effective response.

Puy du Fou chose to work with Telelogos as its solutions offer user-friendly broadcast capabilities, together with advanced security features. The company’s technology is also easy to integrate with multiple data sources and features centralised monitoring and management of all the displays, in order to maximize uptime.

Now, thanks to the 50 digital screens and Intel® NUCs installed by Telelogos across the park, digital screens show details of each performance in real-time. This means that visitors can see if a show is sold out, in progress, or about to begin, with a quick glance.

In addition, the Telelogos solution is used by Puy du Fou’s 20 restaurants and catering points. Digital menus at takeaway food outlets are automatically updated throughout the day according to the time of day as well as the weather conditions, so guests can get up-to-date and relevant information. Meanwhile, at the park’s restaurants, guests can use digital screens to check how busy each venue is, and if there are seats available to book.

At the Molière Theater, a space dedicated to corporate events, new digital signage is used in the reception area as well as in the corridors in order to direct guests to the correct locations. The operator can control these screens remotely, and they can also be customised according to companies’ requests, for a personalised welcome.

With its large network of displays in every corner, the digital signage infrastructure is a critical component of the security of the park; it can be used in real-time to inform the employees, trigger alerts and manage visitor flow in case of an emergency.

“Digital signage is today a key element in the optimization of our visitors’ itinerary. All of our screens are dedicated to organising the day of our visitors and their movements around the park,” says Mathias Jauffrit, IT manager at Puy du Fou.

Telelogos operates in more than 50 countries with over 2,000 clients. Its Media4Display solution is dynamic display software, allowing attractions to communicate with visitors in real-time.
