Parques Reunidos has reportedly teamed up with FC Barcelona to open a series of branded leisure and entertainment centres.
Sources suggest that five centres will open over the next five years and will range in size from around 3,000 square metres to 10,000 square metres.
The intention is to locate the centres in sites with high footfall retailtainment locations such as shopping areas and malls.
Parques Reunidos has obtained the rights to create the FC Barcelona branded offerings worldwide with the exception of China where the project has been acquired by Mission Hills Group.
It is understood that the project will be funded by Parques Reunidos with the football club retaining eight percent of all income generated. Where the centres are located remains to be seen but early indications suggest they may will be outside Europe.
The news follows the announcement by Leo Messi Management, MediaPro Exhibitions and Phoenix U-Art of the Messi Experience Park (MEP) set to open in China.
