Dubai’s Museum of the Future has begun its 4-week accelerator program, with fifteen tech companies as strategic partners.
Following a competition, fifteen companies will now gain unparalleled access to the staff, resources and expertise behind the Museum of the Future as part of the museum’s Accelerator programme
The shortlisted companies are: HTC, Huawei, POPIQ, SENSOREE, Art Processors, IDENTIGY, Unified Inbox, DigiComm, Holotronica, SNIPS, MetaVRse, SPACES, IT-Serve, Axeon360 and Layers of Reality.
The companies will address three tech challenges faced by the museum: advanced wearables; AI and social companions; and also AR/VR experiences.
Dr. Noah Raford, Futurist-in-Chief and acting Executive Director of the Museum of the Future, said: “We are happy to welcome all the shortlisted companies to enrich the experience of The Museum of the Future. Through their expertise, we believe these companies will create solutions that will create remarkable experiences for all visitors.”
The museums says the aim of the programme is to “provide a dynamic environment to explore new opportunities to deliver transformative technologies and services, culminating in companies receiving a MOU (or other commercial agreement) to deliver a funded pilot project after the program ends.”
The museum, currently under construction, sees itself as a ‘unique incubator’ for futuristic design and innovation. It grew out of five years of temporary immersive exhibitions which were held at the World Government Summit. These pop-ups led to the start of the Dubai Future Foundation. Then, in turn, the Museum of the Future (costing an estimated AED 500 million).
Through the Museum of the Future, Dubai aims to achieve a world-class experience with a one-of-a-kind visitor experience,” said H.E. Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation.
The museum will act as a platform to demonstrate and test upcoming inventions and prototypes. It will include a major event space and theatre alongside a series of classrooms. Partnership labs will host some of the most inspiring industry leaders of the 21st century.
