Legoland New York is currently under construction in Goshen, New York. It will be the third Legoland Resort in the US, following attractions in California and Florida.
The resort will boast 15,000 Lego models made from 30 million Lego bricks across seven themed lands, including Bricktopia, Lego Ninjago World, Lego Castle and Miniland.
Brick Street is the land where visitors begin their journey, while Bricktopia includes the Lego Factory Adventure Ride – the world’s first ride experience featuring technology that shrinks visitors into Lego Minifigures.
Lego Ninjago World is home to Lego Ninjago: The Ride, while Lego Castle includes the Dragon roller coaster and Dragon’s Apprentice – a coaster experience for younger visitors.
Legoland New York under construction
Lego City is a busy metropolis of Minifigures with the popular Driving School ride, and Lego Pirates is where visitors will find Splash Battle, Anchors Away! and Rogue Riders.
Finally, Miniland is an interactive version of New York, with landmarks including the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Yankee Stadium and Citi Field.
Legoland New York previously delayed its opening date from July 2020 until 2021 due to COVID-19. Merlin Entertainments later shared a construction update about the New York attraction.
Legoland New York will feature 50 rides and attractions across 500 acres. It will house a 250-room hotel, also opening in 2021.
Lego Minifigures, rides and attractions
Legoland Windsor Resort has also released a first look at the attractions, models and experiences coming to Lego Mythica: World of Mythical Creatures.
Elsewhere, Legoland California Resort is opening its Lego Movie World expansion on May 27 and has shared a sneak peek of the land and attractions.
Stephanie Johnson, divisional director for Legoland New York Resort, told Blooloop: “This is Merlin’s largest investment in a single attraction.
“For this project, the creative team has taken the best elements from our sister parks, brought them to New York and added some New York twists with nods to certain thematic elements and to New York’s heritage.”
