Legoland California Resort is opening its Lego Movie World expansion on May 27 and has shared a sneak peek of the new land and attractions.

Legoland California‘s immersive land is inspired by The Lego Movie and The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part and boasts six interactive attractions.

Emmet’s Flying Adventure is a flying theatre ride from Brogent Technologies that invites visitors to take a trip on Emmet’s flying sofa, while Unikitty’s Disco Drop is a family-friendly drop ride.

Emmet’s Flying Adventure, the land’s flagship ride, will include a full-dome virtual screen, with visitors flying above Cloud Cuckoo Land, Pirates Cove and Outer Space.

Additional attractions include Benny’s Play Ship, Queen Watevra’s Carousel, Build Watevra You Wa’Na Build, and Emmet’s Super Suite. There will also be themed F&B such as Cloud Cuckoo Crepes and the Awesome Shop for souvenirs.

Peter Ronchetti, Legoland California Resort general manager, previously described the Lego Movie World as “an interactive experience that fully immerses guests into a world created by Lego”.

“We can’t wait to see the faces on all the children as they interact within the creative world of Bricksburg and experience the incredible Masters of Flight ride which is taking the traditional soaring-type of ride to new heights,” added Ronchetti.

The expansion was originally scheduled to open in 2020 but Legoland California Resort was forced to close due to COVID-19. It reopened on April 15.

Immersive Lego Movie attractions

Elsewhere, Legoland Windsor Resort has released a first look at the attractions, models and experiences of Lego Mythica: World of Mythical Creatures.

“We’re thrilled to give our guests a first look at Lego Mythica: World of Mythical Creatures and showcase some of the attractions, experiences and models that will be unveiled when we open in May,” said Helen Bull, divisional director at Legoland Windsor.

Lego Mythica attractions include the UK’s first flying theatre ride, Flight of the Sky Lion, as well as Fire and Ice Freefall and Hydra’s Challenge.
